Hey Guys. What have I done now you ask? Well, was doing a bit of research on the ‘web’, don’t ya know, as the my mate Spunky has been querying some coding he was doing for a blog. WordPress seemed to be the chosen tool for the job. So, on friday night, I decided to have a look and see what all the fuss was about.
Of course, I’ve seen WordPress before and was aware of it, but never actually looked at the nuts and bolts of it. I was smitten. Like only big fat geeks can be. Nearly 48 hours later (with an extremely drunken day of watching the mighty Scotland fall to those crazy Italians in between) I have launched my own wee blog and designed my own theme so I can let the world know of my geek status. Stuff Bebo. I want total control.
So Spunky, if you are looking for some WordPress confab. I’m yer man.
I’ve not got much on so far, so stay tuned, but the thing that has made me very interested in this place is the amount of plugins and various third party widgets that are out there. Just now I’ve got Daiko’s YouTube Widget on my sidebar. Which is nifty for reasons you can see.
I also installed Lightbox 2, which is an ajax based plugin allowing you to post thumbnails like below, click on the thumbnail and watch as the picture is displayed impressively. Go on, click on it to see the magic:
Anyway. I intend to stick at this site. From a web designers stand point the last day or so has opened a couple of doors for me and I may even consider using this site for clients in the future.
